Alert! The Serengeti sigh.

written by : Wildlife Custodian

Freshly hung the dung the earthy smell.
When rain drops quenched the Serengeti hell.
While life waits her new birth morn,
In crimson cloud her day is born.
Gleam the morning skies a’ brim,
Chasing cosmos light a'glim.

Danger! Shadows bush and earth,
Senses cocked, a new life birth.
Flash the rolling thunder rain the hail,
When the Serengeti kissed her thirsty vale.
Nostrils flared, a dusty soak,
A million hooves drummed the annual broke.

When Africa engulfs her wildlife soul,
The stillness through her senses roll.
Terror glides the still waters eerie,
Out the dark came the query,
Senses cocked, when serenity broke,
Mixed with froth and dirt her wildlife choke.

They'll sluggish walk the ancient track,
Their slowmo trunk through tinder bush did hack.
Their ears a silent flap did beat,
Chasing away the African heat.
While mum secures her cradle bundle,
Browsing, observing his feigning rumble.

Warm the summer scarlet bright,
Flaming western skies did light.
Aglow the migration myriad,
Hazy clouds a dusky period.
Day-end murmurs her lullaby,
Alert! The Serengeti sigh.
